Remember, life is an echo | EVS/ESC Review #19

Planning and evaluating, a new haircut (=a new life?), ESCUH is becoming more and more international, time to remember. Life is an echo. What you send out, comes back. What you sow, you reap. What you give, you get. What you see in others, exists in you. Remember, life is an echo. It always gets back to you. So give goodness. (Unknown)

#1. The Ukrainian House

When you create a good plan half of your work is already done!
That is why this week a part of The Ukrainian House team gathered together in order to brainstorm about project ideas, thoughts and our common dreams:)

We realized that so many things are being done right now in The Ukrainian House and so many wonderful projects happen almost every day here!
5. Polish language courses
6. Ukrainian language courses
and many many others!

Just follow facebook page so that you are in touch with all the great events from Ukrainians (and not only) to all over the world! The Ukrainian House in Warsaw! Whoohooo!

#2. New haircut :D

As it says, a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life. So do I! This week late at night I took scissors and did the things I have wanted for almost several months. And pretty successfully, though.

Don't worry, I'm not depressed, I fell completely happy and all-sufficient! And even more now with my super stylish haircut :)

#3. Speaking club is becoming international!

This week our English Speaking Club at Ukraiński Dom w Warszawie got even more international! Today we had the highest number of different nationalities - people from Indonesia, Poland, Turkey and Ukraine visited our small event! Wow!

We have tried different ways of practising the language but the most beloved is Speaking Marathon for sure :) However, we have others too:
  • 'Topic Speaking Club' - we choose the topic, some additional materials and work in small groups/pairs while discussing the subject.
  • 'Speaking Marathon' - in pairs, you discuss different topics, the pairs are changed every 5 minutes. Therefore, you are constantly talking in English!
  • 'Public Speaking' - you choose the topic, learn articles and websites, present your ideas in front of the audience, and get random questions.
  • 'Mafia Game' - we play a very popular game together. You practice not only English but your psychological skills too.
  • 'Debates' - there is one controversial issue, each group works on it, performs own ideas connected to the issue, and answers the questions.
#4. Day to think and remember

Also, this week was also a week of remembrance for me. I don't want to write a lot here - those who know me well, understand what I am talking about. Just try to spend as much time as you can with the people you love.

All the best from EVS/ESC-wolontariuszka Ira Konoplianko.
Cześć!😉
